The Louisiana Baptist Committee on Committees is beginning
work to nominate persons to serve on various state convention committees.
Currently, 22 nominees are needed for service on committees
related to convention arrangements, credentials, Louisiana Baptist history,
moral and social concerns, nominations, order of business and resolutions.
Committee on Committees Chair is June Johnson Hall of New Orleans.
In addition, the LBC Committee on Nominations is beginning
work to fill vacancies on state boards.
At this point, 23 nominees are needed to serve on the state
Executive Board and as trustees of Louisiana College, the Louisiana Baptist
Childrens Home, the Louisiana Baptist Message, the Louisiana Baptist Foundation
and the Baptist Retirement Center.
The Committee on Nominations Chair is Stephen Laughlin of Pitkin.
As in previous years, persons should submit names of nominees
and the committee or board for which they are being nominated.
Submissions should include information on the nominees
church membership and current employment.
Nominations should be submitted to either committee no later
than August 16. The committees are scheduled to meet in early September to begin
their work.

262 Hay Place, New Orleans, LA 70124.
Nominees for Louisiana Baptist boards should be sent to Stephen
Laughlin, First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 340, Pitkin, LA 70656.
Also, persons interested in submitting a resolution for this
falls state convention are asked to submit their statements by August
9. The committee is scheduled to begin its work soon after that date.
Early submissions will allow the LBC Resolutions Committee
to begin its work to determine which resolutions to present to the convention.
Resolutions Committee Chair is Aubrey Foster of Baton Rouge.
Persons should mail proposed resolutions to the Resolutions
Committee through the LBC Executive Office at P. O. Box 311, Alexandria, LA

e-mailed to carolyn.sterne@lbc.org.
Resolutions still may be proposed by convention messengers during the annual
meeting in November. The annual state convention is set for November 11-12 in
the Bossier Civic Center in Bossier City.
