PINEVILLE, La. (LCU News) – Louisiana Christian University has launched a new podcast, featuring LCU President Mark Johnson and his wife, Heather. The eight-episode first season of the P356 podcast debuts this spring, with episodes released biweekly.
“This came about because of my travels, meeting people across the nation and who are part of the Wildcat Nation,” President Johnson said. “It gives us the opportunity to sit down with amazing alumni and highlight some of the great things they are doing and make connections with them.”
The conversations will be built around the four pillars of worship, scholarship, stewardship and leadership from Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.
“We have built connections with people in our world—together and separately, and we are excited to share those with listeners,” Heather Johnson said.
Heather said one of the key messages she hopes listeners will take away from the podcast is encouragement for their Christian daily walk.
Podcasting technology gives believers another way to access biblical messages and hear from other believers living out their faith in today’s world.
“We want to remind people about His everyday truths from His Word,” she said.
The Johnsons will bring conversations from their 30-year marriage, experiences from different stages of life, and the trials they’ve walked through, along with what they’ve learned in those moments about being faithful to His Word.
President Johnson said their goal is to show the human side of the individuals they will be interviewing—that life isn’t perfect, but it’s always better when walking with the Lord.
“If you are worshipping intentionally, learning diligently, and stewarding faithfully, then you can lead courageously,” President Johnson said.
Guests will include LCU alumni, speakers from the Baptist association, as well as local, regional and national Christian figures. One of the first guests will be Christian apologist and author Frank Turek, perhaps best known for his talk show “CrossExamined” and his book “I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist.”
