Six churches accepted into membership of the Louisiana Baptist Convention during the 2017 Annual Meeting were honored during a reception Nov. 13. The reception featured prayers for the churches, encouraging words from several speakers and a time of fellowship. Seating messengers for the first time during an annual meeting – the final step for LBC membership – were: Grace Community Church, Baton Rouge, Titus White, pastor; Iglesia Bautista El Alfayla Omega, Leesville, Jose Us, pastor; St. James Baptist Church, Lafayette, Cory Young, pastor; Gethsemane Baptist Church, Brusly, Daniel Johnson, pastor; New Life Baptist Church, Baker, Gary Richerson, pastor; and Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Ringgold, Danny Slack, pastor.
