Louisiana Christian University to hold two Christ, Church and Culture events in February

February 3, 2022

By Elizabeth Clarke

PINEVILLE, La. (LC News) – Shannon Kendrick, regional alliance director for Alliance Defending Freedom’s Church and Ministry Alliance, will headline Louisiana Christian University’s Christ, Church and Culture event Feb. 7.

In her role with ADF, Kendrick develops relationships with churches, ministries and universities to help them acquire the legal resources needed to defend against religious liberty challenges to protect their right to minister freely. Before joining ADF, Kendrick served in senior executive roles in the federal government, regional economic development, congressional affairs, think tanks and political organizations.

“Louisiana Christian University is taking the lead in Louisiana addressing cultural issues from a biblical perspective,” LCU President Rick Brewer said. “The University’s C3 seminars provide a Christ-centered worldview confronting issues impacting our nation’s citizens daily.”

The event is the first of two C3 lectures scheduled this month.

Gregory S. Baylor, senior counsel and director of the Center for Religious Schools and Senior Counsel for Government Affairs with ADF, will headline the second C3 event, Feb. 22.

Since joining ADF in 2009, Baylor has focused on defending and advancing the religious freedom of faith-based educational institutions through advice, education, legislative and public advocacy, and representation in disputes. He has testified about religious liberty issues three times before congressional committees.

Baylor regularly appears on national media commenting on religious liberty and higher education issues. Additionally, he serves on the board of directors for the Museum of the Bible and the International Alliance for Christian Education.

Both C3 events will take place at 6:30 p.m. inside Guinn Auditorium and are free and open to the public.
