Louisiana College is continuing to experience exponential growth and prosperity and our recruitment is becoming farther-reaching day by day.
From 1 to 5 p.m. on April 18, we are planning a worship experience on the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City where our students, admissions group, faculty and staff will join together to share Christ and what Louisiana College has to offer.
The Wildcat Band, the LC Chorale, Voices of L.C. and others will share in word and song and invite prospective students to experience LC.
The College plans to take this model to other cities around the state and beyond in the weeks to come.
You can read about all of these happenings on the Louisiana College website and the Wildcat online newspaper at http://wildcatsmedia.com/
Our enrollment this year reached the highest in the history of the college. LC had 1,461 students attend during the fall semester and our spring enrollment is higher than that of last spring.
As the college continues to grow in enrollment, we are sensing a maturation of our spiritual growth as well. Weekly chapel services are truly deep worship through song and the study and explication of the Word of God. Student-led Bible studies have sprung up across campus and a sense of the presence of the Holy Spirit is felt in a growing intensity.
As we continue to experience the leading of the Holy Spirit in the new areas of ministry growth at LC such as the Law School and Medical School, we are also led to remain true to the 104-year history of our institution.
The deep roots of the old oak trees around the campus present us with a metaphorical representation of the roots we share with the Cross of Christ and our Louisiana Baptist heritage.
The flowering dogwoods and azaleas that decorate the campus at this time of year remind us of the renewal Christ brings to us as a college that is being reborn through the students who go out one by one into the world, sharing Christ through the lens of a Biblical worldview.
They burst forth as a fresh flower with hopes, aspirations, dreams and convictions – all strongly influenced by the Christian education that they gained from every class experience, every relationship, every campus activity that LC brought into their lives.
We are proud of our Louisiana Baptist heritage. In turn, you can be proud of how your tithes and offerings are providing young men and women with an opportunity to fulfill our mission “ … to change the world for Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
