High school students of all grades, as well as transfer students, are welcome to attend Preview Day, an extensive overview of campus and academic life at Louisiana College. A record number of participants have already registered for the March 19 event.
Packed with exciting events, Preview Day is great for prospective students who want to learn as much as they can within a weekend setting.
Preview Day participants will:
tour LC’s beautiful campus;
meet with faculty and students to learn more about academics and student life;
gain valuable scholarship and financial aid information;
receive a free LC T-shirt; and
enjoy lunch in the Hattie B. Strother cafeteria.
High school seniors who attend Preview Day with the completed LC application will have the application fee waived.

Other campus events
Preview Day will mark the end of a busy week on campus.
Today, the LC College Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics is hosting “Science’s Fractured Fairy Tales.” Open to 10th-12th grade high school students, the two-day event that started on Thursday includes challenging games, informative movies and pizza.
Two workshops will be held on today: “Pinocchio and the Physiology of Truth” and “Why is Little Red Riding Hood’s Cape Red?”
Friday afternoon features two science based competitions: “Rapunzel’s Tower” and “Humpty Dumpty Egg Drop Competition.” At stake in the competitions are $4,000 worth of LC scholarships.
And on Thursday, more than 40 businesses from central Louisiana and beyond were at LC for its career fair.
The event connected students with local and national recruiters from a variety of businesses and graduate schools to discuss possible employment and graduate programs.
Local businesses at the fair included Crest Industries, KALB-TV, Christus Cabrini Hospital, as well as New Orleans and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminaries. Other career fields represented were secondary and higher education, law enforcement, insurance, legal and military.
Laniel Mercer, director of LC’s Career Center, said she is “grateful for the exhibitors at our fair who will consider our students for employment, and who invested their time to connect with them.”
