ORLANDO, Fla. – The 2010 annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention is set for June 15-16 in the West Building of the Orange County Convention Center, 9800 International Drive in Orlando.

MONDAY, JUNE 7
• INTENTIONAL COMMUNITY EVANGELISM
(ICE), begins Monday, June 7, in Orlando and Oviedo, Apopka, Kissimmee and St. Cloud, and goes through the weekend.
FRIDAY, JUNE 11
• SOUTHERN BAPTIST MESSIANIC WORSHIP is set for 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, June 11, in Salons 1-2 of the Rosen Centre. On Saturday, the group will hear from Bruce Mills, a founding deacon at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Israel, and H.B. London of Focus on
the Family. The day’s worship and teaching sessions, with the theme “Knowing the Plan,” based on Jeremiah 29:11, will begin at 9 a.m. A business meeting will commence Saturday at 7 p.m. in Salon 1 and 2, and Davidic dance training will be available from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday in Salon 22 on the second floor of the Rosen Centre.
SATURDAY, JUNE 12
• CROSSOVER ORLANDO officially kicks off the 2010 SBC annual meeting. Crossover, now in its 22nd year, is a yearly evangelistic outreach to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the weekend before the SBC’s annual meeting in the host city.
• Saturday’s activities include several BLOCK PARTIES across Seminole, Osceola and Orange counties. A sports clinic is to take place in west Orange County. Volunteers in East Orlando, Kissimmee and Orlando are to distribute food to needy residents who have signed up with door-to-door visitors in their neighborhoods. Plus more. In other words, there is a place for
you to participate. A call has gone out for 10,000 volunteersto help with Crossover. The usual complement is about 3,000.
• Some 3,000 people are expected for a HISPANIC FAMILY FESTIVAL featuring food, games, music and speakers at the Central Florida Fairgrounds.
• THE SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONFERENCE OF ASSOCIATIONAL DIRECTORS OF MISSIONS will
convene for their 50th meeting June 12-14 in Orlando, Fla. The meeting, with the theme “Celebrating 50 Years of Partnership in Kingdom Work,” will begin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Rosen Plaza Hotel with Frank Page, vice president of evangelization at the North
American Mission Board, speaking.
Other speakers are to include Ed Stetzer of LifeWay Research, O.S. Hawkins of GuideStone Financial Services, and Jerry Rankin of the International Mission Board.
The meeting, with the theme “Celebrating 50 Years of Partnership in Kingdom Work,” will begin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Rosen Plaza Hotel with Page, vice president of evangelization at the North American Mission Board, speaking. Following workshop
opportunities that afternoon, the group will gather for a banquet at 6:30 p.m. with musical evangelists Billy and Paula Speer. On Sunday, Stetzer, director of LifeWay Research, will preach during a 10:30 a.m. worship service followed by lunch provided by GuideStone
Financial Resources.
SUNDAY, JUNE 13
• PASTORS CONFERENCE is to start at 5:30 p.m. Sunday with a pre-session concert by Travis Cottrell in Halls WA1-WA4. Sunday’s speakers include David Uth of First Orlando, Steve Gaines of Bellevue Cordova (Memphis), Tenn., Evangelist Ravi Zacharias, and Tony
Evans of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas.
• THE WMU MISSIONS CELEBRATION is to take place at the Orange County Convention Center, West Concourse, Level 3, in the Chapin Theater. On-site registration opens at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 13.General sessions are set for 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, and 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday. Special music will begin 15 to 30 minutes prior to the beginning of each general session. Speakers for the WMU ANNUAL MEETING are to include Jennifer Kennedy Dean of the Praying Life Foundation, Frank Page of NAMB, Gen. Douglas Carver, chief of chaplains for the U.S. Army, plus several IMB and NAMB missionaries.
• Richard Land is scheduled to address the topic of immigration during the NATIONAL HISPANIC FELLOWSHIP OF SOUTHERN BAPTIST CHURCHES MEETING from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday afternoon, June 13, in First Baptist Church of Kissimmee, Fla. This event, which takes place all day long, in the SBC Prayer Room in the convention center, has become an annual commitment to prayer for the SBC and for revival among God’s people in America.

Based at the Pentagon, Carver is the first Southern Baptist chaplain to be promoted to the chief of chaplains office in more than 50 years.
